By using the gigas.com website, blog, customer control panel and online purchasing area, you accept the practices described in this Privacy Policy. We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to take account of evolving requirements such as changes in technology or legislation, and request that you refer back to this Policy frequently to become aware of any such revisions. In addition, we recommend that you review the privacy policy of any website accessed through the gigas.com website as these sites may be subject to different privacy practices. GIGAS is not responsible for those websites or for the information made available thereon.

SECURITY

When you start completing a purchase for GIGAS products or log into your personal account you can do so through a secure server. Furthermore, all payment information is entered through a secure connection between your browser and the servers that process the payment. The use of Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology means that all personal information, such as your credit card number, will be encrypted and transmitted in a completely secure manner as it travels across the Internet.

All user personal information is stored in a database registered with the Spanish Data Protection Agency, in a file called “CLIENTES” and complies with all aspects of the Spanish legislation. This information is solely used for the purpose of processing your order and serving you as a customer. From time to time we might also send you commercial information and offers that we deem might be of your interest. In no case will this information be used for other purposes or transferred to any third parties for other purposes. Credit card details are collected and stored for the purpose of allowing recurring charges, but the security code of the credit card is only used in the first transaction and is not stored afterwards, for security reasons.

When you place an order, you become a Registered User which will save you time when you place an order in the future, pre-filling your personal details in the purchase area. You will also be able to log in and check and modify your personal details stored, control and manage your products and view and print your invoices, as well as your order history and status. We may also send Registered Users information on products and special offers which we think you may find of interest and regular newsletters. Registered Users will be able to opt-out of such communications.

The password will be stored encrypted in our servers and GIGAS personnel will not have access to these passwords in plain text. Should you lose or forget your password we will not be able to retrieve it for you, although we will be able to reset it with a new one. The registered user should keep this password secret and will be responsible for the misuse or communication of this password to other persons. GIGAS will not be held responsible for any access derived of a misuse of the password.

CUSTOMER DATA STORED IN GIGAS SERVERS

The customer acknowledges and accepts that in the event of a technical issue, exceptionally our engineers might have to access the physical server in which the customer data is store and by doing so in very rare circumstances might access customer data. Should this be the case, our engineers will limit their activities to the fixing of the technical problems without using the access or the data that they might have access to for any other uses.

GIGAS also informs that according to the Spanish Law 25/2007 of 18th of October 2007, that regulates the electronic data communications, GIGAS may have to store and retain certain information for the access of the relevant and legitimate public authorities.
