How to Administer my Cloud Server from within Gigas´ Control Panel

General

You will be able to perform basic administration operations on your cloud servers from Gigas´ Control Panel.

Tab: Details:

  1. Graceful Reboot - Allows you to perform a proper cloud server reboot, stopping the services before restarting it.
  2. Re-install OS - Allows you to re-install your cloud server with the Operating System you pick from the available image list. Consider that this option will erase all data contained in the cloud server.
  3. Delete server - By Selecting this option will cause your cloud server to be erased, reverting its resources to the cloud´s resource pool. Consider that this option will erase all data contained in the cloud server.
  4. Firewall – Through this option you can access your Firewall´s setup menu. Gigas offers a basic functionality firewall for each of your cloud servers free of charge. If you require additional information regarding its setup, please access this link.
  5. ON/OFF – These buttons allow you to boot up or force-close the server. The OFF button performs a shutdown on an electrical level, not stopping the services in execution at that time.
  6. Your cloud server´s Hardware Description – You will find the cloud server´s hardware setup in this window. This information reflects the total assigned hardware information (hard drive, memory, CPU and IP).
  7. Transferred Data Traffic Description – The total monthly data transfer volume information used by the cloud server is displayed here. Consult your product´s characteristics on Gigas´ website to see the total monthly data transfer volume assigned to your Gigas service. Additionally, you can consult the root / administrator password set during the cloud server creation process. The password is hidden until you press the “Show” button for additional security.

8) Contract Resources – By means of this button you will be able to access the menu that allows you to expand your cloud server´s resources

1. Additional hard drive – You will be able to purchase 50 GB of additional hard drive space to meet your needs. 2. Additional IP – It allows you to acquire additional IPs which you will be able to associate to your cloud server. To get additional information on how to set them up, please contact our Support Department, which will guide you through the process. 3. Additional data transfer volume – You may add blocks of additional data traffic volume (100 Gb or 500 GB) accordingly to your needs. You will be able to use this traffic volume during the usage period of your Cloud Server, not having to worry about using it up during your billing period.

When you buy your resources, remember that you have to assign them to the cloud product you want to use them. The option list “Applicable to:” allows you to select the product, amongst the available services, to which the resources will be added.

9) Modify Resources – This option allows you to adjust the memory and cores assigned to your cloud server. Remember that, depending on the Operating System that you have set up, it may be necessary to restart the cloud server.

The maximal resources that you can assigned are limited by what you have available in your cloud.

Tab: Console In this menu you will be able to access your machines prompt. The prompt displays your cloud server´s information in real time, so you will be able to use it, for instance, to view your server´s boot up process. To access the prompt, you need java installed in your browser Although Gigas´ prompt give your immediate access to your cloud server, we recommend you use more customizable and flexible accesses, such as Secure Shell (SSH) or Terminal Server.

Tab: CPU & NETWORK

This window allows you to view your cloud server´s CPU and networking usage graphs. These graphs are updates hourly and allow you to see historical data for the last 24 hours, in order for you to be able to check your server´s usage and dimensioning. Tab: Backups In this option you will be able to see your cloud server´s completed backups, as well as be able to eliminate them or to request its restoration. Consider that performing a restoration will cause all your cloud server´s current data to be erased, being replaced by the data contained in the backup.

Tab: Disks

It gives you several options regarding your hard drives:

  1. Select Autobackup – This option adds your cloud server, within the free-of-charge backup policy offered by Gigas, performing a full weekly backup. The list of available backups can be found in the previous tab “Backups”.
  2. Edit hard drive – It allows you to change the hard drive size assigned to your cloud server. The maximum hard drive space is limited by the hard drive space you have contracted in your Cloud.
  3. Backup – By means of this option you may request an on-demand backup of your hard drive. Remember that the backup has an execution window and is not instantaneous. It will replace the copies you may already have with the last one performed correctly (automatically or manually).

Tab: IPs In this area you will be able to contract and manage the IPs you may have assoaciated to your cloud. You will be able to add or eliminate IPs in your cloud server by means of the available buttons:

  1. Assign new IP address – It associates one of your available IPs to your cloud server.
  2. Delete IP address – Allows to delete the IP set up in your cloud server. Remember you always need to have at least one IP in order for your cloud server to have connectivity.
  3. Add a new IP – Performs an additional IP purchase, leaving it available and associated to your cloud.
