How works safe mode in VM?

• Safe mode allows us to use the largest compatibility layer regards the virtualization engine assigned to disk and network interfaces (Driver IDE and e1000).
• After the activation we need to restart the server to apply de changes.

What advantages offers this configuration for a VM?

• With safe mode activated we ensure the correct reading of the disk and network card after the VM import. This fact provides greater compatibility.

What disadvantages we have with Safe Mode On?

• The performance of the network interface and disk reading/writing can be lower.
• Whe we use IDE disks we have a limit of 4 that the OS recognize in the same time. (4 disk or 3 disk + 1 ISO in the CDROM)
